This is a Contract position in Etobicoke, ON posted November 10, 2020.

Coordinates and maintains inventory levels of assigned products, anticipates seasonal fluctuations, confirms space allocations and expedites procurement for the Direct Delivery Center.

Job Requirements ACCOUNTABILITIES: Forecasts and orders material to ensure low and out of stock situations are dealt with promptly to minimize the potential for backorders.

Provides recommendations for the stocking of non-core products.

Ensures on-hand quantities are accurate and makes adjustments when necessary.

Ensures goods are ordered and received within expected time frame and sets product inventory levels giving consideration to storage, demand, seasonality, product handling, inventory turns and industry speculations.

Reviews paperwork and expedites backorders, noting estimated time of arrival.

Investigates and resolves discrepancies and updates stock card systems as required.

Takes necessary action to resolve green flag inquiries from Accounts Payable.

Investigates product damage complaints and assesses responsibility for damaged materials.

Negotiates with vendor for credit and/or replacement of product.

Maintains and analyzes usage records and makes suggestions for product line changes to management team.

Provides assistance and back-up to all other Purchasing staff in the office when required.

Performs other job-related duties as required.

Work Conditions SKILLS: Position requires good product knowledge, sources of supply, re-order scheduling and storage requirements.

Position requires the ability to forecast requirements, assess multiple factors, calculate risks and demonstrate sound judgement.

Position requires good oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with vendors, internal staff and customers.
