The team: Global Technology Services (GTS) is accountable for planning, engineering and 24×7 operations of all global infrastructure supporting Scotiabank.

We deliver the full range of IT infrastructure services inclusive of the public cloud, traditional data centers and our branch locations.

Our services include architecture, engineering and operational support of our networks, systems and databases as well as end-user support for Scotiabank employees & customers.

GTS is a team of over 1,800 people located in 15 countries, with our primary locations in Toronto and Mexico City.

The role: Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Cloud Services, you will fulfill the responsibilities of a Private Cloud Administrator with the following technologies: RedHat Linux, MS Windows, VMWare, storage, networking & hyper-converged platforms.

You are a part of an extended support team that provides on-call rotational support.

There will be some weekend and weeknight work for scheduled changes and implementations.

Is this role right for you?

You will manage & administer Cloud Platform VMware vRealize.

You excel at managing & automating cloud services’ life cycle aspects (monitoring, patching, events notifications, configurations remediation, HA/DR requirements).

You can transition new Cloud services into the production private Cloud.

You are not adverse in providing Levels 2/3 support & vendor escalations for Management tools & Cloud Services.

You can develop & document operational procedures for service operations teams.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

You also possess excellent customer relationship & communication (verbal/written) skills.

You have at least 5 years of hands-on technical working experience with both Red Hat Linux 7.8 / 8.x & Red Hat Satellite administration.

You have at least 5 years of hands-on technical working experience with configuring & administering VMware vRealize Automation Suite 7.x.

You have at least 8 years of hands-on technical working experience with designing, deploying & administering VMware vSphere Hypervisor.

You have at least 5 years of hands-on technical working experience with the server administration of Microsoft Windows 2012/2016/2019.

You have at least 4 years of hands-on technical working experience with designing, configuring and maintaining Nutanix and/or Dell Vxrail hyperconverged clusters.

You have at least 4 years of hands-on technical working experience with configuring and maintaining Cohesity Data protection.

You have at least 7 years of hands-on technical working experience with Networking, Storage & Security concepts, technologies and operational experience.

Completion of a post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or in a related technology-based stream.
