This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community-based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities The incumbent provides office managerial support to one Manager within Nova Scotia Health, as well as dotted line support to one Assistant Manager.

The incumbent functions as a primary point of contact for the Manager responding to general information requests related to the office, or referring calls to others as appropriate.

Provides confidential administrative service with high quality of organizational and communication skills to assist and support the Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the office on a daily basis.

Qualifications Graduate of a recognized office administration program/business program/secretarial program Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative experience OR a combination of equivalent education, training, and experience Ability to use Microsoft Windows and all components of Microsoft Office.

Expertise with the development and maintenance of documents, spreadsheets and databases Demonstrated planning, organizing, prioritizing and time management skills Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to work as a team member and ability to foster collaborative relationships Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and ability to work independently Demonstrated ability to manage a challenging workload in an environment where frequent interruptions, multiple priorities, deadlines and concurrent activities occur.

Demonstrated attention to detail Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, problem solve and utilize good judgment in decision making Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
