Senior Accountant – Firm Risk Management

Your opportunity Our National Office in Toronto has an immediate opening in for a Senior Accountant for its National Risk Management team.

This is an internal risk management position.

The individual will have the following responsibilities and will report to the Senior Manager, Risk Management: Assisting in the management of the Quality Assurance Review (“QAR”) program for major lines of business of the Firm, including analyzing findings data and preparing reports for the firm’s leadership team and Board; Assisting with dealings with regulators such as the Canadian Public Accountability Board and monitoring the implementation of any recommendations and requirements issued by regulators; Assisting Partners and staff on matters pertaining to Independence, Objectivity and Conflicts of Interest; Assisting with Root Cause Analyses on quality deficiencies and work with key stakeholders of the firm to identify appropriate action plans to address identified causes; Contribute to the design and delivery of effective risk management training programs for Partners and staff; Assisting with the development and management of engagement letters to protect the firm and the management of engagement revisions; Working with our internal legal department and National A&A group on various Risk Management projects, including developing process and controls to satisfy the incoming ISQM 1; and Assisting with researching and writing effective risk management materials for Partners and staff.
