To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com Job Description What you’ll be doing This role is a critical driver of CIBC Asset Management fixed income security selection and an integral member of the Fixed Income Team reporting to the Head of Credit Research.

The incumbent will contribute to the credit research of global investment grade credit.

The role of the Credit Analyst is to provide the Fixed Income Portfolio Managers in-depth advice and consultation of a tactical and strategic nature regarding sector credit exposures and security selection in the fixed income markets.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining the financial models, investment theses of various global sectors and companies, including ESG assessment and scoring.

Through ongoing dialogue with our Fixed Income Portfolio Managers, and presentations to the Credit Committee, the recommendations emanating from research will drive investment decisions and contribute to achieving portfolio target value added objective for security selection.

How you’ll succeed Develop clear actionable investment recommendations within predetermined Global credit sectors based on underlying credit fundamentals and ESG assessment.

Differentiate and monitor key drivers for outperformance of industries and companies.

Develop and maintain finan cial models and forward-looking estimates for the companies under coverage.

Engage in an open and ongoing dialogue with Portfolio Managers and other Credit team members to ensure that the best ideas are incorporated into the respective portfolios.

Develop strong working relationships within CIBCAM to collaborate and share knowledge, develop industry views, and to promote and utilize a common research framework.

Work collaboratively with equity analysts in the Equity team with respect to company and industry analysis, including ESG evaluations.

Present and communicate both internally, to the team and externally, as appropriate, with prospects and clients of the firm.

Who you are Demonstrate experience with 5 years fixed income research and analysis experience, including US and international companies, and long/short trade ideas.

Strong understanding and experience with debt/fixed income analysis, capital markets knowledge, including credit default swaps.

Quantitative skills relating to indicator and model development and familiarity with macro and micro economic data environments.

Knowledge of ESG and its application in building a portfolio.

Ability to perform under pressure on a trading desk.

Proficient in computer modeling and spreadsheet analysis.

Financial programming skills are an asset.

Demonstrated knowledge of global credit markets analyzing a variety of industries and with an established professional network across global credit markets.

Highly driven, intellectually curious , collaborative within a team culture while also able to work independently and has effective time management skills.

Ability to multi-task and work independently in a rapidly changing environment Your influence makes an impact.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal, effective to influencing colleagues.

Ability to understand/explain/resolve complex issues; strong problem-solving and reasoning skills.

Undergraduate, graduate and/or post-graduate degrees in management, finance, accounting or a STEM discipline.

Strong financial and accounting skills.

Completion of CFA preferred.
